Scarlett Johansson has offered her star power to Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer’s campaign — and now she opens her checkbook. The “Avengers” actress made the maximum contribution of $4,950 to Stringer’s presumptive mayoral campaign, records show.
The native New Yorker made her contribution on Oct. 13 for the campaign funding period that ended Jan. 11, records show. “We’re grateful for her energy and support she’s given to the campaign,” said Stringer finance director Catherine Butler. “And we’re grateful to her ongoing involvement.”Johansson hosted two fund-raisers for Stringer in the fall. Her twin brother also worked for the beep for several years. Campaign filings released on Tuesday also show “Alien” star Sigorney Weaver — whose real name is Susan Weaver — gave Stringer $4,900 in two donations.
